FAQ

Q: Where is Symposium being held?
A: On Friday 3/17 and Saturday 3/18, Symposium will be held at the iHotel and Conference center with all wet labs being held at our Veterinary Basic Sciences Building (a little over a mile away). On Sunday 3/19, Symposium will be held at Veterinary Basic Sciences Building to feature our veterinary college campus.

Q: When is the Bovine Palpation Competition?
A: Although it is still in the works, bovine palpation will be held entirely on Saturday (3/18) morning. More details will be shared when they are available.

Q: What attire should I wear?
A: Business casual attire is recommended aside from wet labs and day trips. Wet labs with specific attire will have it listed in the description. Since spring weather is often unpredictable in the Midwest, we recommend dressing in warm layers and wearing close-toe shoes for comfort. Be sure to bring cocktail/formal attire for our opening gala, though! Closing ceremony is all about representing your school, so casual school spirit wear is suggested.

Q: Will meals be provided?
A: We have a few sponsored breakfasts, so take a peek at the schedule for those. Boxed lunches will be provided Friday and Saturday with snacks and refreshments throughout the day. On Sunday, our campus Einstein's Bagel and Bros will be open and grab-and-go snacks will be available. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be provided at Opening and Closing ceremonies.

Q: Will I have to plan for travel at symposium?
A: We have shuttles arranged between the iHotel and hotel blocks as well as between iHotel and our Basic Sciences Building for wet labs. We will not have shuttles going to hotels not included in our hotel blocks.

Transportation will be arranged between iHotel and any day trips or social events (i.e. opening/closing ceremony).

Q: I just realized my plans have changed and I can no longer attend Symposium/my wet lab/day trip. Can I get a refund?
A: Refunds are only eligible for extenuating circumstances. Scheduling conflicts do not qualify for a refund. If you have questions about refunds or have an extenuating circumstance, please contact savmasymposim2023@gmail.com.

Q: What else does U of I have to offer?
